Fields of activity are development, production and assembly of wear protection linings for containers and pipe systems, and furthermore complex ceramic components for machines and plants such as measurement and control devices, ball valves, hydro cyclones, bearings, nozzles, pitot tubes, lances or also ceramic composite systems combined with steel, PU, rubber, etc.
This extensive advisory service to our customers guarantees a long service life and long maintenance rates of machines and equipment and hence, maximum economy.
The bases of this are reliable and dimensionally accurate components, manufactured at the CeramTec-ETEC plant based in Lohmar (Germany), with state-of-the-art equipments and machines, adhering to the directives of a production process certified according to ISO 9001.
Due to their special properties, and particularly to their high hardness, ALOTEC® high-performance ceramics are superior to all other generally applied materials in the field of wear protection. Therefore, it is applied, for example, to line large areas of conveyor chutes and slides, shaker loaders, but also of drum mills, concrete mixers and distribution hoppers, based on bricks and tiles manufactured true to size. In the field of conveying of metallurgical coke, ALOTEC® linings have a service life which is 12 times higher in comparison to steel linings. A considerably longer service life can also be obtained by lining granulation chutes conveying blast furnace slag, plate mixers or twin-shaft mixers.
Mills or crushers lined with ALOTEC® high-performance ceramics guarantee short grinding cycles and iron-free grinding, and together with a high grinding capacity, highly profitable operation. Due to their chemical composition, they do not have any toxic effects, and therefore they can be safely applied to the pharmaceutical and food industry.
ALOTEC® high-performance ceramics are also highly suitable as wear protection material in processes where high impact load plays a role, e.g. transfer hoppers, funnel tubes or skip cars for feeding of blast furnaces, etc. If used as a composite material together with other materials, polymers for example, it is also suitable for applications involving high impact load.
ALOTEC® high-performance ceramics are furthermore highly suitable for wear protection of pneumatic pipe systems. Particularly those areas where strong turbulences take place – such as bends, reductions, tube dividers and inlet pipe-ends are frequently exposed to extreme wear. With ALOTEC® linings it is possible to achieve a service life which is up to 10 times higher in comparison to steel linings. In addition to delivery and assembly of linings, ETEC also provides complete components (for example, ball valves) and ceramic-steel composites.
Machines and equipments for conveying of solids within corrosive media are exposed to intense abrasion and erosion, and also for this kind of application ALOTEC® high-performance ceramics have proven their efficiency. Typical applications are conveying chutes for suspensions (for example, pit coal), mixing vessels, pipe systems, and also screw conveyors and decanter screw centrifuges for the discharge of highly abrasive slurry.
Both for this and for other kinds of applications involving specific requirements ceramic composite systems are applied in order to tap the full potential of ceramic materials (combined with rubber or PU, for example), providing optimized solutions to our customers. Application examples are flexible tube elements or pulley laggings for conveyor belts.
State-of-the-art production processes applied by CeramTec-ETEC are the basis for engineering and production of complex ceramic components for many different applications, even in minor quantities. A decisive factor is mostly the optimal integration of ceramic materials into existing systems as well as their combination as a composite material together with steel or cast iron for example.
