And again another iF material award for ETEC

Another excellent product – ETEC’s Compact Bend

Already for the second time after 2007 ETEC Gesellschaft für Technische Keramik mbH was awarded again one of the traditional and coveted iF material awards. During the Hanover Fair 2008 the coveted award was given again to ETEC’s new compact bend, and it was handed over to Norbert Rulands, ETEC’s Marketing and Business Development Manager who represented all ETEC staff members.

The jury decided to award the new compact bend recently developed by ETEC’s specialists. Thanks to this new technology, patented for ETEC, wear protection with high-tech ceramics won’t be a problem anymore from now on, even in highly narrow radii. An important criterion for the jury was obviously the notably increased profitability, made possible by long-term service life, and energy saving, two important features of ETEC’s compact bend.

In pipelines with protective liners (e.g. in pneumatic systems for foundry sand) impact absorbers are generally used in narrow bends, they are bulky and must frequently be replaced. They interrupt the even pipe cross section, causing high energy consumption, turbulences and caking. Even with most narrow radii, the wear lining of the “compact bend” follows the cross section of the complete system. ALOTEC linings almost have a hardness nearly as high as diamonds. 

iF has become internationally renowned by means of the “iF design award” which has been organised since 1954 on a yearly basis. It is considered to be one of the most important design competitions worldwide. Whoever is awarded the coveted iF label either in the range of “iF product design award”, “iF communication design award” or “iF material award” by the professional and international jury, is considered to belong to the best ones in his particular line of business.
